Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to VaultGuard Sync (Cloud) and forms part of the Terms of Service. Customers must ensure that their users and anyone acting through their accounts follows it.

1. Do not misuse the Service

You must not use the Service to:

• break applicable law, sanctions, export controls, or another person’s rights;
• upload, distribute, or facilitate malware, ransomware, credential theft, phishing, or unauthorised surveillance;
• exploit, threaten, harass, defraud, or facilitate serious physical or financial harm;
• store or distribute child sexual abuse material or other content whose possession is unlawful;
• infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, publicity, or contractual rights;
• gain unauthorised access to an account, vault, system, network, or tenant;
• probe, scan, or test a vulnerability without prior written authorisation under a disclosed security-testing scope;
• bypass authentication, permissions, rate limits, billing, verification challenges, or other safeguards;
• interfere with availability, integrity, or normal operation, including denial-of-service activity;
• send spam or operate an unsolicited messaging, scraping, proxy, resale, or cryptomining service;
• misrepresent identity or affiliation, or use the Service to deceive people about the origin of content;
• process regulated data that the Terms or an order expressly excludes.

Good-faith security research reported through security@vaultguard.cloud is not a violation when it stays within written authorisation and avoids privacy harm, persistence, disruption, and access beyond the minimum needed to demonstrate an issue.

2. AI and automated access

Automated tools and AI agents must use approved interfaces, valid scoped authorisation, and reasonable rates. You remain responsible for what an agent can access and for reviewing proposed writes or permission changes. Do not use AI features to evade safeguards, exfiltrate another user’s data, generate unlawful material, or make high-impact decisions without appropriate human review and a lawful basis.

3. Resource fairness

Use only the users, storage, traffic, and automation included in the plan or order. Contact us before a load test or activity likely to create unusual traffic. We can apply reasonable technical limits to protect availability and other customers.

4. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and preserve relevant evidence. Depending on severity, we may request remediation, remove or restrict access to affected material, rate-limit, suspend, or terminate an account, and report unlawful conduct when required.

Where practical and lawful, we will use a proportionate response and notify the Customer. Immediate action can be necessary for active compromise, serious harm, illegal content, platform stability, or a legal order.

To report abuse or appeal an action, email support@vaultguard.cloud with enough detail to investigate. Do not send illegal content or secrets in the report.
